Adaminaby

Today was for relaxing and touring in and around the small town of Adaminaby. We thought we were in luck as local markets are held on the second Saturday in the month. We managed to buy something from every stall (all two of them). Apparently this is the last month the markets are held before winter sets in.

There is a walking tour of the town to view old buildings relocated from the original town site (before the creation of Lake Eucumbene). We chose to drive rather than walk, given the cold and windy conditions.

The surrounding countryside is starkly beautiful and the old cemetery which overlooks the lake is worth visiting. You can also drive to the Murrumbidgee River - it wasn't quite what we expected.

Barbara finished her day with an afternoon walk along the lake.

The big trout (obviously trout fishing is the thing here) ...

Countryside ...

The not so mighty Murumbidgee (obviously we were close to its source)...

We had some visitors at our lunch stop ...

Lake Eucumbene ...
