The Courthouse ...
St Saviour's Cathedral ...
After a quick trip to Trapper's Bakery for coffee and cake we headed for Blackheath via Taralga and Oberon. This is a very pleasant drive through the southern tablelands with just one narrowish and windy section near Abercrombie River. The road is bitumen the whole way.
We stopped at the tiny historic village of Hartley for lunch. A lot of work is being done to the old buildings and streetscape which will make it an even nicer place for a quick break on the northern end of the blue mountains.
Hartley buildings ...
The Hartley Valley can be viewed from Barden's Lookout on Mt York Road about 4ks west of Blackheath.
Our next stop was Govett's Leap in Blackheath for a stunning view - as Barbara said "Prepare to be wowed". Our apologies that the photos do not do the view justice ...
